Sorry to hear of your troubles but I had the same thing happen 17 years ago. Turned out to be the best thing that could have happened, met and married my wife of 17 years now, the kids came back to me when they got tired of her bull, they are all grown and gone now and my new wife and my son is now 16 years old and life couldn't be any better. So hang in there and things may get better for you too. There is hope. Good luck, get that bike fixed and ride.
Just came thru a couple tough weeks myself, not quite along the lines of yours but they could have. Alls I can say is tomorrows another day, always give yourself that next day! This to shall pass in time. Oh and also, success is the best revenge. Focuss your efforts not in sorrow or pity or despair, for that is a waste of idle self destructive time. Instead focus it on a plan when many achevable goals will lead to an ultimate goal.
The wife left and took the kids. No Problem. The bike is down, no problem. Wife and kids will probably be back soon enough. Two shops are looking into your mechanical problems. Worst case scenario, hire an attorney and buy a new bike.
I have been there myself. About 10 years ago. I can tell you this, if He brings you to it, He will bring you through it. It is not easy by any means. Just lean on Him, trust that He knows what you need and when you need it. He will provide. And, as badinfluence63 said, focus on a plan for success. They can't stand it when they realize that you don't need them. ;-)
I have had some bad times and I usually tell myself all I have to be thankful for, like the health of my kids, etc.
I couple of years ago, I was taking the kids on a cross country vacation to Alaska (from Richmond, VA). I wanted to drive the Alcan highway. We stopped for gas at the Canadian, Alaska border. I filled the jeep with gas and headed in to use the bathroom. I waited a long time...seemed like long time...and I heard someone knocking around inside the bathroom. I was getting pissed because it was taking so long. Finally, the door opened and I was ready to make some sort of sarcastic remark. Out came a guy who had no legs, just a torso. He walked on his hands. He "walked" out the store, down some steps and started up the highway. He was hitchhiking up the Alcan highway.
I was soooo glad I didn't make some a$$hole remark to him. I planned to pick him up when we left the gas station but he had already gotten a ride.
Bottom line is that we can always find something to be thankful for. Any time I feel sorry for myself, I think of that guy and what he has to go through, and suddenly I feel thankful that I have two good legs and a lot more.
