I've got a Bell Apex full face for those cold morning rides to work. Pretty quiet, I can still hear the radio on the SG. It has the breath guard to keep the visor from fogging up, works great for me.
The only time that I wear my full face helmet is when it is below about 40 and raining, other than that I wear my 1/2 helmet and my leather "cowboy" bandanna (covers my nose and mouth) I am in Georgia and ride most anyday here hot, cold, wet it, don't matter. If I am out of the house, I am riding.
indiana doesn't have a helmet law but I do wear my full face whenever it is cold or raining, and more often lately when it is dark out. Maybe I am getting used to it.
I have one of the Harley ones with the Eagle on it and I let the shield be barely open so that it doesn't fog up and wear a balaclava underneath it.
It is Indiana though so I do put about 1500 miles a year on my pick up truck.
HELMET? Who needs a focking helmet? This works for me down to about 20, don't get colder than that often in TX. I got leathers for this yr I hope they are warm as the monkey suit, a lot easier to put on anyhow.
FF Scorpion EXO-400 in Phenix City, AL. I ride every day, year-round. The fogging is kind of a hassle, but it's a lot warmer than my half. I've used a 3/4 Scorpion, as well, and it worked fine...you might need a neck gaiter below freezing, though.
I wear a full face helmet year 'round. Don't care what anyone says, It's pretty selfish not to wear a helmet when you ride cuz "the wind feels good." I have a family, and can't see them having to live w/o me cuz i want to feel the wind when I ride. Also, just saw a diagram from a study done in Europe on the damage to helmets when people ride, and about 40 percent of the helmets damaged in bike wrecks were damaged in the face guard area. I'd like to keep my jaw intact...
Cold in Alabama? Are you kidding. I rode to work the other morning and it was 30 degrees. Thats cold at 65MPH.
I have a nolan 102 full face flip helmet and it comes with an anti fog face shield insert that actually really works. I've tried balaclava's and they don't quite get the job done. My face is cozy warm in the nolan and that fog insert is the shiet.

haha yea, i usually head up that way through prattville, so i guess i should go with the full face, plus i dont ride with a windshield...
well those ideas are great for Brewton and Prattville, but yall better really suit up if you head north to Shelby county and the Chelsea area. there are days in January that it will be really cold, like I am talking 45-50 for the high
Seriously, the wife and daughter are looking at full face and 3/4 helmets with shields, I just need something like a HJC cs-21m or a fs-2 with my leather lined face mask. I bought a vega with ear flaps and neck curtian but I do not like it at all.
