On my way to work in the morning I usually see the same three guys going the opposite direction on my way to the highway.
One rides a Harley and he always waves. One rides a BMW and never waves. The other rides a crotch rocket and always waves.
Out in the big wide world some Harley riders wave and some don't. Same with guys riding other makes of bikes.
Some people don't wave unless they are waved at first.
It's the individual not the bike they ride.
I was on a ride with a friend of mine who rides a Honda Shadow 1300, we passed several HD riders, and I thought it was pretty amusing that several times, he'd Wave, and wouldn't get a wave back. I'd wave (I was riding behind him) and I'd get a wave from the same guy. Is it because I'm on an HD and he's not?
I don't know how to break this to you ArizonaF but it has nothing to do with the kind of bike. It's called reaction time bro You see most us Harley riders are like gettin' on in years and it just takes a little longer to get the old high five up there by the time they do, the first bikes have passed already

Same here. I try to return every wave, but last Sunday on Rte 7 in Connecticut, there were so many scoots of all shapes and sizes that I spent quite a bit of time riding with one hand. A smile and a nod works when the hand reflex is not quick enough or if I am using the clutch.
Most riders up here (Eastern Canada) are pretty good, everyone will wave. The only exception being the BMW crew, whats with those guys? do they even wave to others Bmeers?? The Biker Wave is a great tradition; lets do our part to keep it going.
