After reading this story can anyone honestly now say they don't understand why so many people out there complain about motorcycles. You're doing something you shouldn't and you get pissed cause of the crap someone else pulls. Let me guess if you got a flat driving in the breakdown lane it would have been someone else's fault that the road wasn't clean.
I hear ya man... I really do, BUT I got a secret for ya... come a little closer, closer, cloooser... EVERYBODY and I mean everybody is an A-hole sometime, it was just your turn to get chit on today
Just be ready next time to be the chitter instead of the chitee...
I wholehearted agree. While I consider myself a generally safe and courteous driver, I am sure there are times when I do stupid things out there on the road and someone else has to live with it...we all do.
Every time I'm stuck on I85 in Atlanta with nowhere to go, I look over at the 8-foot wide shoulder and think, "Man, why can't I just cruise along on that?" The answer: because it's illegal. I don't need the fine. While I agree that the guy was a dick, it was you that was breaking the law. I'm not siding with him, I'm just sayin'.
That does bring up a good point, though. Why can't bikes be allowed to cruise the shoulder (emergency lane) at a safe speed during times when traffic is halted?
In The Netherlands it is condoned that bikers ride between cars when there is a traffic jam. If there is an crash, both are considered to be at fault.
Having said that, I always give space to bikers when I am driving (or rather standing still), as that is just being polite, hate being overtaken on the inside by idiot bikers, swerving all over the place.
Now why does it take soooooooooo long for my bike to arrive!!!???

Goede morgen, yep that's true. Here in NL as long as the traffic is not moving at more than 10 kph. And yep, it's great when most people move over to make a little extra room for you to get through (I always acknowledge when I safely can). However I can't tell you the number of times I got some crotch rocket jockey breathin' down my neck because he wants to storm between the lanes of traffic at 50+ kph. They make it bad for everybody
I used to take it slow, at worst you would end up with a scratch, hate those "zippers"
Goede middag; Brunei, that must be some weird riding experience you ought to post a thread over on the 'foreign' forum
Back to the main subject - when lane-splitting you learn one hell of a lot about anticipating some cagers next move just watchin' the body-language on the back of their heads With the number that make a sudden lane change without lookin' or signaling amazes me not more 'buikschuivers' get wiped out Tot ziens
