I ran Silverstars in my Honda for 4 years, and around 70,000 miles, rain, wind, gravel, rough roads.... and not a lick of trouble. Put them in my RG, so far 7 months, 16,000 miles... no problem... but then I'm usually running LOW beams, with some High beams at night. I've recommended them since I found them, most folks I know have used them for years....and many thousands of miles.... never heard of such failure rates as in ths thread

I put in the HD dual halogen headlight. Got it on E-Bay for $70. The number ONE best money I spent on my Fatboy. I uped the bulbs one size and headaches are gone, and I can see!

Silverstar Ultra I purchased in Sept 07 & run on highs burned out in August 08. Don't forget there wasn't much riding from Dec to April.

I received an e-mail from Sylvania. According to them, the life of the H4 on high beam is approximately 50 hours. I run on high beam for better recognition. This doesn't seem to me to be a great value. They suggested I try the 9003LL, 150 hours life. I don't know the price, but bet it's higher than the H4. I replaced it with a Wagner HID, $9.00.

I tried the Silverstar Ultra in my 08 SG. High beam burned out on me last night after about 6 weeks and 2000 miles. I run on high beam most of the time, and ride an average of 2 hours each day. I like the light output, but not the short lifespan.
