OK...I replaced my stock headlight bulb with the Sylvania Silverstar H4ST and am pleased!
Now. on an '05 Ultra, what bulb do I use (preferably Sylvania to match the H4ST) for the passing lamps and is there a "trick" to installing there? I wired my passing lamos to remain on with high beam, so I need to avoid any additional wiring issues.
I wish I could tell you. Mine is a 2000, so has H3STs I think, but they are different bulbs than the newer ones. Somebody must be able to tell you what the newer bikes use.
I run a 80/100 PIAA clear H4 in my Ultra. Purchase from JP Cycles, cost around $15, installs in 10 minutes. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup...5-0BABCFA8BC91 Have been running this same type bulb for many years with no problems at all. It does not draw excess amps, does not run hot or damage the light housing. Unbevable lighting on low and especially high!
If I am not mistaken, and it's happened before, the passing lamps would be Sylvania #880ST. If you have sealed beam bulbs you will need to replace the sealed beams with different housings. I know HD has a couple different style housings you can get. Hope this helps.
