Have loved pans and knuckles ever since I can remember. Wanted a shovel chopper in the worst way. I always spurned dressers but as age ahs caught up with me some I find myself lingering by the ultras more an more....

In the 70s I liked the XR Flat Track HDs but never wanted to own one, I always rode MX Huskys, CZ and Sachs. Got out of riding after owning my first street bike a 750 Ninja (1983 ?) and did not feel the need to own a bike again until 2003. Bought a 04 Sportster 1200R , then started to like the RK Custom and the fatboy and owned both of them, now my tastes are changing again and Im really attracted to the Road Glide and think the "shark nose" is great.

Loved the old Pans.

Newer ones, the Road King for it's versatility and the Springer Classic for it's looks.
Road Glide is fine if it's the Screaming Eagle version.

Just my .02,

Krusr

I've always wanted a Harley, only recently could afford one. A local guy was selling two of his, one a totally dressed out classic bagger and the other a V-Rod. The bigger bike was just too big for me (though it might not be any more). I was impressed with the sound and the feel of the bike. In the end I took the V-Rod because it was faster and louder which seemed safer somehow on the CA freeways.

I've always love the Sportster and love the rough feel and low end torque.

Funny though, after being on the forum, neither seems to be considered a real Harley but I love them both anyway.

As a kid, as most young kids do, I looked at Harleys with a judgmental "look down my nose" attitude that my parents did. I never paid attention to Harleys and I rode dirt bikes then Jap street and enduros until about 14 years ago. A friend drove up on a lightly customized Wide Glide.

That was all it took. I fell in love with that bike. About 4 years ago I got back into riding bikes and reaquainted myself by buying an enduro, then about 8 months later I traded for a Jap. cruiser, Kaw Vulcan 2000, (awesome bike), then in May of 2007 I traded that bike for a H-D Wide Glide and I love it.

I still like enduros but nothing can replace my DWG.

It hasnt. Always wanted a bagger, and still want an old school 1950s style bobber and an old bike with a side car.

I remember riding my rice burner in the seventies and seeing a Sportster. Loved it! Wanted it! Now I've got one! But, I must admit, now I'm thinking Softail, maybe next year.

I, too, had brief flings with cheap trollops. The first was a Honda. After I got disgusted with amf shovelhead, I went to bmw.

But I've always returned to my first true love, HD. And here I am, returning again.

About the only thing I can think of, is I liked the vrods when they first came out. Now, not so much. I've tried hard, and I will never disrespect them, but can't bring myself to "like" dressers.
