Default Windshield hight

Hello all
I just bought a 07 Street Bob and it has a windshield
When I ride with it -it is very distracting to my vision .My eye are level with the top edge .Should it be higher or lower ?

I've tried just about every shield height on my Ultra. I love being able to look over the shield, and I love the LOOK of a short (especially dark) shield. But I decided that the buffeting at highway speeds was a poor trade off. I now use a shield that I look through, but that I can see over (in the rain) if I sit up straight.

Top should be about even with the bridge of your nose (straight line). You should be able to look over it without needing to look through it.

See thread: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/general-harley-davidson-chat/3776-windshield-adjustment.html

Hope this helps.

I have one of each, higher and lower. The higher (12") one is great for colder weather and rain, but I like the lower one (9") as it still gives me a lot of wind in the face but almost no bugs.

I'm on the tall side and look over mine.
You can cut it down a couple of inches to get it where you want it.
Not that hard to do.

I to like to see over a couple inch's.
STRO1965, take a look to Cee Baily's super step shilds. Unlike some klock shield CB's can be bought in many hieghts and colors, they also do indeed help to control updraft. The utrra has the little chrome scoop on the lower tree right ?? That to helps direct air down.

I'm satisfied with the shield I'm running right now but I'll keep it in mind, thanks. The Ultra doesn't come stock with the fork baffle but I have added it. Made very little difference.

Not a difficult job to cut it down. Basically masking tape both sides, swing an arc with a fine line from the center, cut with a saber saw, file and sand to a smooth edge. Here is a link:
