Default Torque wrenches

Hello all. I'm getting ready to service my own bike for the first time and have been looking into torque wrenches. I don't know the torque specs yet and will be getting the service manual for that. Question: what is a good basic torque wrench size range?? Is 5ft lbs - 80ft lbs a sufficient range? ...and is a $50 wrench ok for the job since this is pretty much all I would use it for.

ps...any suggestions on where to get the service manual for 2000 FLHRI for less??

You will need two TW's. One up to about 80 ft/lb and another up to about 250 ft/lb. I once bought a cheap TW, never again. $50 bucks for an 80 ft/lb sounds about right for occasional use.

You'll also need one in inch lbs.

I'd get a craftsman or similar tool brand. Buying cheap tools leads to frustration.
While I agree the "click" type of wrenches are better, I've known guys that have missed the "click" and then have over tightened bolts.

I don't know how deep you are going to go on maintence but lots of fasteners will require an inch pound wrench.

For the 250lb...is that for the heavy work such as wheels?? ...because I might leave that for the dealership until ready for the big task. Will the 80lb work for the fluid changes and other adjustments??
