Occ
I find it comical that there are so many haters out there.
Just because it isn't you making the $$ doesn't mean its not right.
They are living the dream. It doesn't bother me. I would rather see some american Schmoes make a few bucks then some foriegn illegals making all that dough.
More power to em. I wouldn't buy an OCC chopper for a couple reasons:
1) I don't have $100k to drop on a bar hopper/chopper
2) I would stick with a proven mfgr like HD.
So many jealous people.
As for problems - any manufacturer has them.
It is part of the game.
I'm glad that Vinnie and Cody started their own shop. I hope they do well.
I'm sure they're capable of making a practical and sound machine, but how easy is it to make custom choppers, or custom looking production bikes? How many people out there doing it successfully?
They're real people, w/ real problems, some of which get exploited and exaggerated on the show for the sake of ratings. But people could relate to them, and it's nice to know you don't have to be 'perfect' in every way to become successful in this country, but it does show you need to work on your personality and discipline if you want to keep it.
Look at the other chopper builders, many of them have problems w/ the law and domestic issues, these guys aren't alone, but I do think they thought bigger than most of the other guys. Every time you turned around they were building a new bigger better shop or showroom. I don't care how much money you're making through tv, it still takes vision and hard work to make those kind of things happen. A lot of people would have come unraveled long before now.
Don't strike me as the type to be savvy enough to attempt the alleged investor fraud, but who knows, maybe one of their lawyers (you know anyone making that much money has to have them) recommended it to them and justified it somehow, if they did do such a thing.
It was sad to see Vinnie go, and telling of the environment to see how it happened. I think they should have spread the wealth a little more if they're going to be integral parts of the show, and perhaps treated employees a little better, but that's all speculation, I have no idea what was, or was not done, in these cases, and don't think any of us have a right to judge w/out insider knowledge.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I lost interest after about the second season, I didn't even know vinnie was gone until about 2 months ago.
I think they build nice show bikes but choppers never have been my thing, guess that's why I own a heritage. But I think it is great that they did so well, they have come a long way since the first episode!
Read their book. Paul Senior IMO is a dying breed, and I admire the guy. He's a serious biker, blue collar worker who made it on his own by throwing down his retirement money and pushed his chips to the center and won. He's also a recovering hardcore alcoholic whos stayed clean. Whats not to like? I think anyone who begrudges someone elses success is a small minded wussy and flat out jealous. Its fine if YOU succeed, but not when someone else does? He built a product, got a show, and made it big. I would wish that on any one of you, and any one who wants em to fold I'd not pee on your head if your hair was on fire. And you wonder what is wrong with america --- they create jobs, build an american bike and do well. pfft. seriously, whats wrong with some people.
I like the show. I hope they go further. Ill admit It was more interesting with vinnie, because like Paul Sr he was the real deal. Same with Rick. Mikey is nothing but entertainment, but I even like him. Jr Im not sure about, although you cant argue with what he brought to the table.
Rock on OCC
