Last night on the way home from Toronto on Highway 401 I saw street sweepers for the first time. Yahoo!!!
You see, years ago I laid my bike down on sand on the road, and my brother and I have ever since had this unwritten rule not to ride till the cleaners have been out in the spring. Yeah, I've done some short runs, but they were always uncomfortable, because I did't know if I came over the next hill and had to stop fast if I could.
I know what you mean they are still bu8ilding new homes where I live and it nails, dirt, sand etc. everywhere. I'm glad they're using you tax pay dollars on something that you.
I hear ya scout. I almost went down friday @ about 50-55 when I hit some sand on the road in a corner [:@] Not a good feeling to have the tires sliding out from under you. I'm glad it's spring now because wet leaves are even worst than sand.
lotsa sand here in Fla. so on many rides it pays to be wary.
Also gotta watch turning corners and riding over the thermoply painted crosswalks, turn arrows, lane stripes, etc. - they are slippery as a 10 term politician.
