Does it replace the star wheel or just slip over and secure to it?

I have one, works great. It just slips on and tightens with a little screw..very easy. Heres the Email of the guy on the forum that sells them here.

It looks like it slips over the star wheel and secures with a set screw

Never seen one before but looks like you could go to a modeling store and find a little "C" clamp of some type used for holding small parts and get the same result for less $$$. Just a thought.

- is the little movement afforded by that "lever" enough to lock/unlock
the throttle barrel ?

Takes some getting used to but for $12 it's not bad.

As stated all it does is tighten up the star wheel making the throttle grip easier or harder to twist.

I had to play around with mine for awhile to get it so it would tighten the throttle enough when "on" but loosen it enough when "off". Still have a problem with it being tight enough to use as cruise control. Seems the throttle creeps back.

For the longest time I had a problem with my gloved finger accidentally hitting the lever. After getting used to it, it's less of a problem. Could be dangerous if you're not alert.

It never tightens the throttle so much that you can't manually twist it back.

I found it's main benefit is for long rides on flat terrain just to be able to relax your grip a bit or when for whatever reason you need to take your hand off the throttle.
