Hello everyone I have a 2003 deuce with 13,000 miles. I still have the factory battery in it and it is giving me no troubles but I am taking a little road trip next week ( central FL to north GA.) my question is should I replace battery? . I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this Thanks in advance
In years you would think the battery is at the end of it's life. In usage I would say no. How has it been taken care of for all of these years? I have an 04 Deuce with 23k miles and battery is still very strong!
You have a good battery but its on its last leg. If you are near the end of your riding season then I would chance it. Start with a new one come spring rather than installing now and letting it sit all those months.Batterys can be found easily on the road if need be. Hows your luck been?
5 years is pretty much the life expectancy of a battery especially if you live in the FL heat. If it strands you on the side of the road during your trip you will wind up wishing you had spent the $100 before you left. Unlike years past, batteries today do tend to die with little warning. Why chance it?
I bought my 2004 Ultra in march. I took it to Maggie valley, NC in June.
Since I diud not know the maintenance history of the bike, I changed all the
oils and bought a new battery.
I put the old battery on the shelf in the shed and hook up a battery tender to it every week or so (for people that may stop by with a bad battery ...wink-wink).
You?
Stuck up in Georgia.
Battery dead.....banjos heard around the curve.....
100 bucks not so bad now, is it?
