Now that I think about it I did have a problem with my Jay Brake controls, but it was a long time ago. When I first got my FXST back in 1999 I would ride it hard out to the beach and drag metal parts all the time. One day I was riding and the left foot peg snapped off and my riding boot slammed into the road and ripped off the heel of my boot and almost pulled me off the bike. I turned around and went back and found my heel and foot peg. The foot pegs have a piece off all thread in them and I guess I had hit that peg so many times I weakened the metal and caused it to break. I had to replace the all thread a few more times until I finally just slowed down a little. Watch out for the pegs breaking off on Jay Brake forward controls if you're riding a lowered bike.

Same thing happened to me but the bolt was the 1-3/4" bolt on the right side that passes through the rear brake master. I found out later the bike had been dropped on that peg and the bolt was never replaced! When I looked at the bolt you could see it was cracked! I replaced it with a grade 8 bolt and painted the head silver until I can find a chrome one. I was traveling about 30 when it happened and it was darn good thing it wasn't faster!
On my older Jay Brake lower controls you have a piece of threaded metal with an Allen head on one end and you use an Allen wrench to thread it into the control body, then you hand thread the foot peg onto the threaded metal and use a open end wrench to tighten up the foot peg. I found the right Jay Brake part was too brittle and broke very easy so that's when I just bought a three foot length of all thread and cut it to the right length and even carried an extra length with me. I found that the all thread metal was softer and bent a little instead of just snapping off.
I lost my antenna somewhere near Milwaukee on I-94 today. This is/was the second one to fall off. If U find it, call me. It's black. The dealer/stealer gets $30.00 for just the whip. Auto parts stores get $6.99 for black or chrome... Maybe I should slow down, or use more locktite?
its a harley it vibrates.... once a month i check just about everything, but i still miss stuff like the bolt that came out of the sissybar i found while i was changing my heads... i bought 2 tubes of locktight...lol
