I am just a little p!ssed off! I was out riding my rigid today and coming down one of the back roads I usually ride I hear a wierd sound and then something flies off the bike! I instinctively grab the front brake and hit the rear brake but there is no front brake lever to grab... fortunately I was only doing about 45, the road was fairly straight at that point and did get safely stopped. I walked back the road and found the brake lever and one of the nylon bushings that were missing from the lever...the pivot pin was still in the control on the bars and after looking at it I see that there is supposed to be a c-clip that holds the pin in place and it is gone. I thought that these were well made controls and wondered if anyone else may have experienced a problem like this? I will be talking to Jay Brake tomorrow for sure!
Ah, man, KR that sucks! Be thankful u were able to stop! When I saw this post, I feared the worst for u! When I lost control I ended up 20 feet down in the woods in a ditch with a broken collarbone and 5 fractured ribs! As PT said, what the heck you doing driving a rigid in PA?! JK, I'm glad you're OK, and call Jay Brake first thing tomorrow AM!!!

The worst thing that ever fell off my bike was my heel/toe shifting linkage years ago. I had to ride 20 miles without stopping to the nearest Harley dealer in second gear!!

I have no idea how it happened but a friend of mine had his passenger backrest (the one supposedly attached to the tour pack) fall off the bike on one of Long Island's parkways. He was riding solo.

Was kind of funny but not when it happened I had my heel shift fall off on my RKC and went to shift to third and nothing there! Still had the toe shifter though ..turned around and found it on the side of the road.
