I, like many of you have had problems with Harley warranty issues. My 09 Road Glide had a booger under the clear coat of the fuel tank. I called customer service and they said that if your service manager can see it, we'll replace it. WHAT!!! I'm not used to being treated this way! I'm speechless! They told me that a new tank will take around 10 weeks. Two weeks later, the new tank arrived at the dealer and it was put on today. I'm floored! I have to give a big shout out to Harley Davidson for taking care of me, I never expected it. Kinda restores my faith in the MOCO! While there I spent $400 in goodies, so I guess they kind got me. Good lookin out Harley Davidson!

I didn't tell the dealer first because I'm used to the run around. I was just gonna live with it. While sitting in my garage looking at the flaw, I called the moco, just to see what their policy was on paint flaws. They said to take it to the dealer and if they confirm it, it will be taken care of.

You're one of the lucky ones g, Harley has a 3 foot rule.....if your Service Manager can't see it from 3 feet away, it doesn't exist. That's when having a good SM that you get along with, really helps. I had a guy who had a hair under his clear coat and no one noticed it when we sold him the bike. We contacted HD, sent pics, etc and they refused to change the tank......because it was far enough down the side of the tank, that you couldn't see it from 3 feet away (we ended up sending it out and having it fixed at our expense, but HD didn't lift a finger).
Mine was between the filler neck and where the script "Harley Davidson" is on the tank.
You could see it from 6 feet away but only in the right conditions. In the sunlight it was very noticable. Under the light bulb in the garage, you had to look to find it.
