Wow... a lot of nice looking bikes but two that stick out to me are the 1952 Harley-Davidson Pan Head and the 1963 FLH. Actually there's not many of them I wouldn't mind riding and many I would like to own.
Actually, I got bit by the Harley bug at a very early age. Well, not actually a bug. More like a St. Bernard. But it's a long story. Anyway, there was a motor officer lived in our neighborhood. He used to put around on his issue Harley. My next door neighbor also had one of those Harley dirt bikes, but the motor was seized, and I don't know if he ever got it fixed or not, since we moved away.
When we were kids, back in the 60s, the guys across the street had people coming over on motorcycles all the time. We were told that it was OK to look, but never to touch. That lesson has stayed with me to this day. We used to stand outside and just drool over some of the machines that showed up over there.
Plus, my parents had Yamahas back in the days. My first ride came at 7. Somewhere, there are pictures of those bikes. I still remember the headache that I used to get from the plastic faceshields we used to wear. Nothing else smells like it.
Thanx for the link. Now, if I could only find those In the Wind mags from back in the 80s. I'd be set.
