I have another take on the post. I believe that it is a troll trying to make Harley cycles, riders and dealers as deficient.

hilbilly, your point is well taken
some accomplish what they start and finish and take credit ,others start, find they can'rt finish and blame everyone else, then others are smart enough not to try and pay to get it done from the beginning. myself i try. if it beats me i look for help and if in the end it just ain't workin out i pay. it's all in my corner till it's done either way

I always liked this price sheet for shop labor.

Labor rate - $35.00 per hour
If you watch - $45.00 per hour
If you help - $70.00 per hour
If you worked on it before you brought it in - $100.00 per hour

Guess that pretty much says it all, 'cept, Welkum to the zoo, hilbily. I'd a told ya to hold off a bit b4 jumpin' in, but movin' a li'l slow these days, and it's sorta layt, now.

And like the IRON PIGS would say, "Never let the basta*ds wear you down", hilbily

I was at the local dealer when a guy tried returning a starter. It was obvious he put it on his bike but apparently that wasn’t the problem. The parts guy said that they have a policy 'No returns on electrical parts', especially ones that were installed. The guy that bought the starter went ballistic. He was threatening to kick over bikes in the show room and beat up the parts guy. A couple of the sales guys along with a few mechanics from the shop had to escort the guy out. It was a bad scene that could have got really ugly. Bottom line – don’t buy a part unless you are certain it’s the one you need.

You can always bring the bad part in and have someone else confirm your problem before purchasing a replacement part?
