Set the stupid rider antics of the GW rider aside.
I don't know what some of you guys are smokin', but there is NO stock Dyna (not even a CVO 110)that is gonna smoke or stay real close to a stock 1800 Gold Wing. A stock 1800 GW is about a 12.75 1/4 mile dragstrip runner, and it's top end is about 135 mph. Stock current Dynas are about 13.5 second 1/4 milers and top out about 115. According to the Motor Company( in their SE catalog), a stock 96" Twin Cam engine puts out a MAX HP to the rear wheel of 63 HP and a max torque of 78 ft lbs. The Honda, though weighing 200+ lbs more, has 100+ ft lbs nearly everywhere and boucoup more HP plus a little better aerodynamics.

My well modded 09' Dyna engine (42 HP more than stock) probably would out accelerate a GW in a 1/4 mile race. But I think my bike will really struggle to reach 135 mph, IF it can even get there. It reaches 100-110 quickly, but the acceleration is pitiful after. BTW my ECU allows the machine to spin to 6400-6500 rpm.

Stay tuned to a video that I made just yesterday of an acceleration run to 110 mph.

Remember, the other guy may be new or just a crappy rider....dont get too close.
I agree!!! and do the same
BTW just because someone can buy a bike doesn't mean they have any business riding

It's also in their owners manual.

IMFUO, there are as many or more dipwads that do that toopid chit on Harleys than other scoots. Purely cause there are more HDs than GWs or others. And it is NOT the scoot, but the nimrod sitting on the seat. He'd have done the same chit on an Ultra, Street Glide, Sporty or a 'rocket'.

Next time, just give him a "Good Mornin' " wave, followed by a thumbs up. Why? Cause you and I BOTH know, he's gonna git his own, if he keeps doing it. BUT he'll think it's cause he's "cool". Confusssses the H*ll out of 'em.

One of the guys we ride with occassionally, has one of those YELLOW GW's. Thing looks like the 'short bus'. He is really a GREAT guy. But we put him up front (I always like peeps in front of me, so I can see what they are doing) in hopes ppl will see that YELLOW critter. I defy someone to tell the LEO, "But I didn't see the motorcycle, Sir"

Two thoughts:

1st - ********* come in and ride all shapes sizes and brands.

2nd - He got away with it. Nothing to stop him from pulling the same chit again. It is easy to come to the boards and say what you should have done.

jus' sayin'

I wouldnt say all GW riders act like the one you are pissed at.
He followed you to make sure you were able to close your saddlebag?? Jeez, sounds like a homo to me.
