When riding alone?

Let's say you are riding alone on a long trip. If you come up on a group of other bikers, do you ride along with them? Or is this considered inappropriate?

If they are going about the same speed as me or even faster I'll hang with them for awhile. If going too slow, I pass 'em and keep going. I don't mind people tagging behind me. Cars tend to notice multiple bikes easier then just one. But I do prefer to ride alone most of the time.

I've had people tag with me, feels weird. If I roll into a group I strike up a conversation to make sure they are going the same way and I have'nt been turned down yet. We're are cool, don't be scared.

Nope - not only because it is bad manners but because I dislike riding with large groups. More times than not there is some retard in the group that does something stupid. If I catch up to them then I am riding faster than them and will get around them as soon as possible.
