I was at Crystal River Harley yesterday in Crystal River Florida. I was looking at the 09 Electra Glides, (my Heritage is coming up on 98K miles) I plan on keeping it and buying a new bike in the next 6 to 12 months. The dealer is selling at 10% below MSRP right now on 09's, it was hard to resist! I just want to wait a little longer and haven't really decided on new or used yet, it's nice to see the dealers actually dealing for a change though.
I wanted a Harley when I bought mine in Oct but if I hadn't been so set on a Harley then I may have looked elsewhere when the dealer wouldn't take anything less than MSRP.
You mean the stealers!!!!!!!! Its about time they give us some money back, they have stolen enough of it already. Bought my FATBOY in 04 , for $27,000 up here in CANADA. Now that makes a man wanna sit down and cry.
I've been looking and day dreaming for a little over a year now. Things just keep coming up that get in the way financially. Considering the changes made in the 09 models, I think that's turned out to be a blessing. So far, I've not talked to a saleman that would indicate that they would even consider anything less than MSRP and I've seen a couple of dealers with a $1,500 to $2000 "market adjustment." When I said, "No way!," they just scrugged and smiled with a definite "take it or leave it" attitude. Needless to say, I won't waste me time with them.
Anyway, I'm aiming at buying in February, March at the latest. It will be interesting to see if dealer attitudes have lightened up a bit! I'll let you know!
