Man I'm with you guys these minis really bring back the memories the taste of dirt, the smell of gas\oil mix and long hot summer days trail riding. Throw in the girls with the halter tops, bell bottoms and the smell of Klotz oil burning like incence Ahhh!
Oh yeah don't forget the ice cold Miller High Life to wash it all down!

OK then, the memories. I remember a bunch of us guys riding around the the school yard, actually racing around the school. When we stopped I took off around one more time to see a friend on his xr75 but he had left. I continued on but meanwhile some others decided to race around the school one more time the opposite way. I had a head on with a trail 50 on my Artic Crap. Bent the forks and my ankle.Had to tell Dad someone dropped a tree over the power line and I hit it. Wasnt allowed to ride at the school.
Hey Darthvader, do you still have those bikes? They are awsome.
The xr75 was a cool bike in my opinion.

mine was a blue 3˝ hp Rupp minibike that my father rebuilt for me when I was 12. Centrifugal clutch, rear brake only but lots of fun. Followed that with a Yamaha 100 2 stoker that I think I pushed almost as much as I rode.

Both were better than Yamalube also known as Foul-a-plug LOL!

Speaking of schools we when to a new school they were building here one summer and started TT racing around the brand new running track before it was covered. It had just been leveled and prepped. I was in the perfect slide with the bike kicked over the whole way around for about 3 laps when the cops showed up. The chase was on then.

Hey sorry didn't mean to high jack the thread it just brings back some fun times!

My first mini was a chopper. Long forks, ape hangers, sissy bar, and 5 hp tecumseh. I was proabably 8 or 9 years old, and bought it from the kid down the street for $20. I brought it home in boxes, and I'll never forget my dad, yelling and swearing "IT'LL NEVER F---N RUN!!" I showed him It never did have brakes, so I went through a lot of shoes. Man, that thing was fun. I've tried to find out info, or find pics of it on the net, but can't find anything. Wasn't a home made bike, either. I've been trying to find another one for the last 20 years.
The first time I visited my girlfriend's parents in PA, there in the garage, was the EXACT same bike I had! She said I can have it, so some day I'll get out there with my pickup.
