Yea, the memories! At 12 yrs old trying to keep up with my 2 older brothers flying across the So. Cal desert, the pucker bush thorns in my leg, rattle snakes, and sleeping under a million stars in the back of a PU truck. It doesn't get any better!

Honda Elsinor MT 125.

I used this bike to get my permit too because it was the on/off road model.

DarthVader,

WOW! Those are MINT... Just amazing to see one of those Honda Trail 70's in that kinda shape after all these years. Those were very popular in the 1970's

First mini bike?

I think it was a Sears with a Briggs and Stratton 5 hp pull start lawn mower engine but not sure.

Long time ago so probably wrong but along those lines,

Home made mini bikes here. My older brother worked at a lawnmower repair shop. We had lots of parts at our disposal. Then I went to work there. What a blast. I had 2 minibikes when I was about 12, my buddies and I would really trash those things.
Then it was on to Hodaka's, first a 100cc, then a Wombat, then a Combat Wombat, Yamaha twin 125 street bike, 250 Elsinore desert racing in So Cal.
Somewhere in there my oldest brother was drafted, so he left his newer Kawasaki 100 Enduro for me to use while he was in Germany, what a mistake. I played Evil Knievel on it and broke my femur just above the knee. Doctor said 6 months on crutches after a steel plate was installed in my leg. I made it about 12 weeks at the most and we were back at it. I remember handing my crutches to my friend while I climbed on his BSA with a 441 Victor in for a little ride. Those were the days,

Ron
