Congratulations on the new scooter, and on your decision to take a riding course. In the mean time are you riding the bike? If not, buy a smart charger(like a Battery Tender) and put it on your battery and put some fuel additive (Stabilizer) in the tank and run it a little. Run it long enough to get the motor hot, you don't want condensation in the oil. Now start purchaseing lots of chrome dodads to keep you busy until march.
I just signed up for the Team Oregon Basic Rider Training course. I have a brand new Softail Heritage sitting in the garage longing for a break in run. As a first time bike owner, March 13 is the beginning of a new phase of life for me!
Congrats! Let me know if I can help you break that thing in by putting some nice gentle SoCal miles on it between now and March 12.

FBTRIKE, already learned my lesson on the battery tender. I've been trying to run it at least once a week, but we had an unseasonable cold snap here right before Christmas and it toasted the battery. Thankfully, my brother gave me a Deltron battery tender for Christmas and she's in fine shape now.
I am so tempted to get out and ride her around the neighborhood before I take the class, but I'm determined not to let my stupid side overcome my intelligent side. As far as chrome dodads, I think I'm going to have to ask the wife to hide the Harley accessory catalog. I could spend a Grand without even blinking!
