Default Forums thread question

Maybe an admin can answer this; I have been reading a lot on the forums and I have noticed that many threads end abruptly (or seem to have been cut off).
I also noticed that there are many bad links.I realize that when it comes to links, it just may be the server is down, etc. and try again, but I have done that to several and had no luck.
The links I can explain, but threads that end right in the middle of a sentence are beginning to bither me a bit. The following is a prime example
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/engin...-properly.html
Am I not seeing it. I am signed in also, so that's not the problem.

That particular thread is from a locked sticky in the DIY posted in 2006, it's possible it wasn't finished or when we changed over from the old to new software some of it didn't make it over. Can you give some other examples?

Can't help you with links that go outside HDF that are posted here, sometimes the links have become corrupt/changed or the page has been moved or deleted etc. Actually that particular link if I remember correctly was to a personal website one of our former admins had (Pilot1996), I know why he pulled that site.

Sucks that thread ended, I wanted to read the rest of it. Actually, I cut and paste some things and put it in a notebook for future reference. There are many others and I can record them (and dead links too) if you want. I can then add them to this thread or is there another place to report this type of stuff. I'm more into restoring H-D's than cleaning websites, but if it helps the cause, I'm all for it!
Johnny

ps I would still like to see the end of that particular posting or if someone could repost the whole procedure. Those of us that read those posts and follow them when working on our scoot's, depend on what we can get from other experienced mechanics!

There were some threads that got screwed up when the forum database was changed to vbullentin over the summer.

Post the links to the ones and I'll ask anything can be done to recover the rest

Yeah, all of the links to the photoshopping 101 articles that members wrote got broken when the new software was installed. Some of have fixed ours by doing a search, finding the article and editing the link. More will get fixed as time goes on.

It's no biggie - chit is going to happen when you swap software.
