I've been kicking around the idea of joining a local HOG chapter. I've been a national member for years. The closest group is sponsored by Buffalo Harley Davidson. I stopped by the dealership today to ask about the chapter, and the owner told me he has suspended his sponsorship until the spring. WTF? I haven't bought a bike there (yet), but have given them nearly all my parts business.
Yea, the dealers sponsor the chapters, the dealers can have them or not. Look around the area. Our chapter does a lot of charitable work (rides) and also assists other major rides if asked. If you don't like group rides, rules or even "paying to ride" I don't think you'll like it.

Any Buffalonians know what's going on??
You can do as the above poster mentioned, check with Gowanda HD who sponsors Southern Tier HOG or cross the canal in NT and talk to American HD who sponsors Niagara Falls HOG.
i was born in buffalo in 1968 moved to florida never been back, half polish and german. if you guys find a cool t-shirt from the dealer with like a buffalo on it, i will send you the money for the shirt. 2xl.
I was a member of the Southertier group, but they would never send me newsletters or tell me where the next meeting/ride was. I finally got the hint and didn't renew my membership there.
Looks like I ride alone or form my own posse.
titusvilleharley-------I'll keep an eye out for a shirt for ya.
I really like the southerntier harley folks, got my bike in Jamestown (same owner as the Gowanda shop) but truthfully the HOG membership is really lacking, although their Lady riders group is great, in fact my wife is off to a Maintenance Class they are doing this weekend, they also have rides for the Ladies almost every weekend, it puts HOG to shame in this area.
