I pulled one this year on an open trailer for 1,400 miles. When I stopped at a motel overnight, I put a cover on it. It did not rain so I don't know what it would have looked like after road spray covered it.
I have a big covered trailer but I get 10mpg with it. Got 25.5 with the Hylander pulling the open trailer with a 850 lb Rune on it.
Depends on the road conditions. Be hard pressed to see ANY thing of mine on an open trailer, with fresh snow and salt on the road. Spray would eat a scoot alive.
Summer, or down sowt, don't see an issue. Do it meself. 2 place snowmobile trailer, 3 chocks, 3 scoots.
