Default Riding to work

I have a 09 EGC. I've never ridden in 32 degree weather. The temp tomorrow will warm up to 60 degrees. My question...is there anything I need to look out for in order to be safe riding in 32 degree weather?

I do have gear that will keep me warm during my travel. Also, it will probably take about 1 hour for me to reach my work.

Thanks

The weather is good and dry streets. I don't have a lot of experience riding this bike nor in this type of weather.

Do you believe I should reconsider this commute?

You will be fine and your body will acclimate the more you subject it to the conditions. Gear up the best you can and go ride. Only way you will get experience on that bike in that weather is to ride. Commuting to works sounds great. Go ride.

I think Rick was yankin' ter chain. If the streets are dry, go for it. Let the bike warm up a little longer and dress in layers. Really nothing worse, for me anyway, than to get extremely cold. It takes the fun out of it.

Most important, do you feel comfortable riding to work? If it's just the cold that concerns you dress warm and go for it but it sounds like there may be some underlying factors involved. If not, leave early, don't rush and have fun.

Supposed to be 28 in Md. tomorrow morning around 5am. Just got some gerbing heated gloves so I'm taking my bike to work for a nice 45 minute ride. Just make sure you wear some long johns, wool socks, and I would suggest at least a 3/4 helmet w/ a face shield.
