has anybody tried to trailer their bike using an enclosed 5x8 uhaul trailer? i'm sure the weight won't be a problem just the tie downs, apparantly the only place to tie to are the rails on the side of the trailer which are screwed to the frame. i don't know if this is strong enough.
drill holes in the floor and mount your wheel dock,
and "D"-rings and tie your bike down. When you get to your destination and get ready to turn in the trailer:
remove your tie downs and fill the holes with either wood putty or aluminum patch (depending on what type floor it is)
works like a charm!
That is the bummer about U Haul trailers. All the ones I looked at had aluminum floors. Would hate to chance drilling and plugging. Never know, in the fire print, you might have bought yourself a trailer painted orange and white.
