If your builder knows what hes doing, thats all it should take. An hour at the most, i think you should be suspicious.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
It might take a while if the Tuner didn't do th build and the owner had mods done and "not sure" the specs. When mine was getting done a guy brought his bike in and all he was able to tell the tuner was "heads/95 and a cam" the only thing the tuner didn't have to "guess" was the air filter/ignition and exhaust.
It would also help when posters indicatte where they are located if they expect service suggestions. If that is mentioned then you might get a local suggestion that solves the problem
Well, since Doc did the build on my Springer, charged a flat rate (as does Jody) and then took six hours to tune it, I will disagree with y'all on that. Ask around and you will find out that his skill and reputation are not in doubt. I am much more suspicious of the dealerships that charge a flat rate, take an hour to tune it and give it back to you popping and cracking.
I also have heard Hillside on another site mention tunes that went into the second day. Whatever.

No poppin and crackin here Bluzman, just raw power and torque. Think they could have extracted some bigger numbers out of that 103"? May be, THEY didnt spend enough time on the DYNO. I mean, i only have a small 95". Whats up with those numbers? 8 cubes bigger than me, think she needs to be re-dynoed, would have expected better numbers than that.

$60 if just for a dyno run, no tuning. i had mine SERT tuned and it was almost $300. they spent about 6 or 7 hours on it. did a great job. it took so long because some of the parts (cams etc.) weren't screamin eagle harley parts, so they couldn't just put them in the computer and go from there. they have to start from scratch. i only have a 95" and was getting around 91HP and 96TQ. the harley shop that was tuning mine told me i could stay as long as i wanted to watch them tune it. i stoped by the day before they tuned mine and they had an 09 screamin eagle road glide with a 110" motor in it and they SERT tuned it and got 90HP and 112TQ. before they tuned it (strait from harley) the curves were all over the place and it was around 81HP and 97TQ. i think if you're spending that kind of money on a bike harley should do it for you. just my thought
Hell that's a deal, it cost $ 300 around here to have your bike on a dyno.
I've been told it takes a 1/2 day and $300 + to get it right. Of course Harley has to abide by the EPA standards. I suggest locating someone who has the software and can do it cheaper and could care less about emissions...
