[quote=powaypete;4431931]#1 = I don't mind if a rider (HD or other) pulls up next to me at a light. I'm a friendly kinda guy. I've met some really great people/riders this way. It sounds like he was lookin for a 'friend' with a common interest.
I'm a friendly kinda guy too , but , we all different , and mebbe it's just me , but I think it's appropiate if the rider in front motions to the one in back its OK to pull alongside
It happened to me last summer,a guy on a ratty looking harley pulled up close at a light and says" nice bike,I'm like yeah yours too".The light changes and I pull away and at the next light he says" where you going?"A warning bell starts clanging in my head and I look more closely at him,his pupils are like pinpricks and his face has a real slack look to it,I say "I'm late for work" and hang a right.I'm a friendly guy but it was obvious to me that he was "on something".I won't ride with a drunk or druggie .
I feel left out. This stuff never happens to me (or I can't remember it). I'm a pretty nice guy, I wave to other bikers regardless of brand, I don't open carry. What's wrong with me? Help me please.

i agree if im at a light and someone just wants to pull up and say hi nice bike what kinda pipes ya got thats cool
but on the other hand i do prefer to ride staggered unless its a good friend i know well and we are trying to communicate not everyone can afford those expensive head sets lol
BD, I REALLY thought we had this ALL worked out the last time, with the 'ratty shovelhead' post. Man, when you pull into my girlfriends drive, howz I s'posed to know who the heck it is?? We gots to come up with a 'secret handshake' , OKAY, a WAVE, so we BOTH know who's doin' what.
What da hey are they thinkin'? Pullin' into the drive. I have peeps doin' that. BUT it's usually someone I know, OR they are looking for MOMMA!!!!!!

If the rider I'm coming up on stops at the right or left of the lane at the limit line, I will take the opportunity to pull next to that rider every time no questions asked. However, if that rider pulls to the limit line in the middle of the lane then I will move to the right or left wing of that rider in a position where I can see that rider's face in their own mirror. If a rider wants to lane hog then do it right or expect other riders to move into the open slot because I want out of here when it comes to traffic.
