Trock- you nailed it. Someone ought to invent a key lock screw. But at least with the snake eye screw my custom seat will still be on the bike.

Time for a trip to the hardware store plumbing department. A flat rubber or neoprene washer slid over the threaded stud acts as a lock washer.

I just use the phillips screw...if somebody steals my custom $2500 seat I'll just have to turn in a claim on my insurance....

That is a damn good idea! I'm on my way to the garage. Thank you!

Had one of those and couldn't find the spanner to get it out. Took it right off with a small vice grip. Wish they'd round the heads.

Now I use a tamper-proof screw that I stole off the door in the men's room.

You know, this has been on my mind for the past few days since I got my Mustang.
Now, for this road trip I'll be adding the pillion with sissy/rack etc. so it won't be that big a deal for the main seat, but after seeing the link above, I believe that place may be geared up for more wholesale and bulk orders. So after a small search, I found a place called Bolt Depot. I like the button head screw, and they have it in chrome.
Just have to find a wrench for it now!!

Isn't this just a common torque screw fitting though?
