Dragster OR Dragger
I was just rereading some of the posts on Chief's thread, about his 'cool' ride, namely RoadKingRon's. It brings up the age old question.
When it is 'cold', are you better off going like a 'dragster', meaning faster than H*ll, which causes more wind chill, but takes less time. OR are you better off being a 'dragger' and just going slow to cut down on the wind chill, BUT lengthens the time you are exposed to it?
I am a dragger over long distances, 45 or 50 mph tops. (Hardtail gets harder when you iz cool) But when I get to Mora, it's 6 miles home, good wide road, smoooooth, I twist the wick pretty good, no matter how 'cool' it is. Sorta that last "CHARGE!!". IF bad enough, it's a HOT chour.
I hear some folks argue the same thing 'bout rain. When I hit 55, I came up with a new policy. IF it's raining when I leave the house, the scoot stays put, unless it is an emergency. PGR Missions are emergencies. Rest will wait. If I am on the road, just keep on truckin'. No front fender, so speed really doesn't make any diff.

So, what's your take? You a 'dragster' or a 'dragger'?
Rain - Light drizzle or possibility, ride out! Get caught? Ride on! Pouring start? Wait a bit, then leave.
Snow - Light flakes, ride out! Ice? Stay home. Serious snow? Stay home.
PGR is definitely emergency material.
In the rain I'm a dragger. In the cold it depends on my mood.

I did notice that:
A) You have another one hidden in the background.
B) There is obviously room in your grudge for at least 2 more. You still have 'walking' room in there.

Funny you should ask. In my story you referred to, wifey and I had that very conversation. We started out as a "dragster" and slowly morphed into a dragger...

If I am by myself, I am a dragster. Get there and get it over with. With my wife in trail I ask her which is more comfortable (read safe) for her?
As for rain. If we have a trip planned and it is raining from the start, we look to see how far we will have to ride in the wet stuff. If we can reach better weather in an hour or so we take off. If it's one of those front's that covers a wide area, one where it is wet from here to there and back, we may or may not go depending on the temp and rainfall amounts.
In the rain we are draggers......
I kin and do dress fer the cold, and Don't care iffin it's rainin.. allot of times a good rain is the only time the scooter gets washed fer a month..
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
If there is a chance to out run or get ahead of a storm, dragster all the way.
