I stopped in to the H/D dealer where I'm getting my bike. They told me that they don't have any S.E.R.T.'s & they are back ordered. Anyone else hearing this? I wanted to have the Screamin' Eagle slip on's installed when I pick it up, but may not be able to do that.
Same story different dealer. I was told that Biggs HD will no longer install after market pipes on anything after May 31, 2006. Parts guy told me that all their mufflers will be stock or close to it, thanks to the CARB and EPA. New version of the SERT is scheduled to arive mid May. If I can't get the performance parts I want, I don't think that I'll be buying a new bike. I noticed that the stock took a dump the other day and an analyst said that it was due to a projected loss in demand do to slipping market share (you can't get what you want).
According to the sales guy, word came from the MOCO to stop installing performance pipes on bikes. So, what do you need the SERT for? BTW, once tuned to your set up, you can't go back to stock settings, you will have to buy a new ECM if the EPA get you. I guess that most of us are really a bunch of scum bag criminals in the eyes of the law (EPA and CARB). I guess that they are finally making headway at banning motorcycles from the road one way or an other.
The Sun is a variable star but scientist anr not sure what type it is. I read an article on Netscape the other day about the descovery that the intensity of the sun's radiation (light) is diminishing and that the polution in our atmosphere is having the effect of balancing Global Warming with the loss of energy from the sun. Maybe the EPA needs to broaden their education. The environment is an extreemly complex system and should not be left in the hands of people that couldn't get a job in industry or education so they settled for a government job. Crime does not pay as well as politics.
If I have offended any public officals, good.
Best,

Ps. Motorcycles are high occupency vehicles, about 30% are ridden at 100% capacity, the rest are at 50% capacity. I wounder about vans and SUVs.
