Default Harley reference book

Is there a definitive, "this-is-the-one-to-have" book that describes Harley models over the years and their technical details and differences between models?

That is a hard question to answer because what you think of any one particular book is what makes it the "best." However, I read the first few pages of "The Harley-Davidson Motor Co. Archive Collection" and I bought it. Very detailed info about the bikes in the HD archive/museum.

Here's a pretty decent web site, has quite a bit of info, year to year, etc.

I picked up a book a couple years ago at a yard sale called "Harley Davidson - The Complete History" Edited by Patrick Hook. It cost me a whopping $3 (original $25), and its a pretty thorough book with tons of pictures, model specs on just about every model back to 1903, special edition information, production numbers, and comments on many models. if i could only have one Harley book (other than my service manual) this would be it.

The Harley Davidson Century from Barnes and Noble is a great read.

I'll also vote for "Harley Davidson Century" from Barnes and Noble. Very good book.
