I've always felt that a support truck and/or trailer would be smart. Problem is the guys I roll with all want to ride. None of the wives want to come because we're doing 500+ miles per day. Another reason is that when you are towing a trailer, you can't match the speed of the bikes legally - at least here in Cali.
I don't quite follow. If none of the wives want to come then why are you trailing the bike when you don't want to? I can understand no one wants to, but it sounds like you're going to. If wives are coming along then why can't they drive an SUV down an interstate for 500+ miles a day? Even at 50 mph that would only be 10 hours.

You need to read the whole thread to understand. The particular trip I began the thread about is just me and my wife.

Well, I certainly don't know your situation. I certainly don't know why your buddies aren't going this year. One possibility though is their wives don't want left at home and they don't want to ride on the back of their husbands bikes either. That's often the reason hubby stays home. Sturgis is a long ways off, you have time to work on people.
You ride and she can fly and meet you there. Or she can pull the trailer thing. If you give in to her evil idea your nuts will fall off and you'll go bald and get ingrown toenails..... Maybe
Toy hauler, wife, you own bed, bathroom, kitchen, AND your motorcycle secured in your garage every night.....Sounds good to me. I love my toy hauler, and probably ride more than most of the folks that love to say "Trailers are for boats".
Oh I see now. But take my word for it, you can still have a good time taking the bike in the toyhauler. Or if all else fails and you really NEED to ride, let her haul the toyhauler while you ride.
rhonda you need to change your avatar, that sports car is just wrong
Well, I've convinced my wife to go to Sturgis this year but..., she insists on bringing our toyhauler rather than riding from So Cal to South Dakota. I've ridden over 30,000 miles around the western USA without ever trailering, but now I'm faced with crossing over to something I said I would never do: trailer my bike even though it is running fine. What's the world coming to?
...wait.. I thought you were supposed to trailer your bike to Sturgis. ? Aren't you gonna need an RV too! You can't show up to RV,trailer week on just a bike.

Call me a 'Trailer Queen' but I'd rather trailer my bike across Kansas ( nothing to see on that road ) and have more time to ride where there something to see.
I can drive straight thru trailering but on the bike it's two good days riding.
