Seal at the top and bottom of tripple tree are Dust seals not oil seals.

From the factory the bearings are greased. When serviced sometimes it will take a tube of grease to fill the neck with grease the first time. Some of that will come out on the bottom as it gets warm from weather or turning. Nothing to worry about at all. Better to be full of grease and dripping than be dry and clean.

This bike was obviously built for the "new" mature lady riders, the ones that dye their hair blue, its just HD's way of being fashionable

Nothing to worry about! just wipe it off. Remember to grease those head bearings on a regular basis!

I filled my steering neck with grease several months ago. You need to pump until you see some coming out at the top bearing. Since then, I have been using a Q-tip to take the excess grease that oozes out from the bottom of the neck. I haven't had any grease drip down onto the bike.

It does not hurt anything. Just a PIA to keep clean. I think most people, including service techs, think the neck has to be pumped full of grease and this causes the seepage. I don't think that much grease is necessary. Just sayin'.

The service manual, as part of the 1,000 mile service, says to squirt grease into the zerk fitting until grease comes out of the top and bottom of that steering neck.

I have been wondering why the Dynas don't have the grease fitting in the neck. Anyone know?

I see what you mean, there is a blue patch under my bike in the signature picture. I better start looking deeper into this grease seepage controversy.
Thanks

It is in fact the neck bearing grease and it will likely rear its ugly head after every service because the techs will fill it to capacity each and every time. Keep an eye on it because it will drip onto your front tins and can erode the finish.
