Not said who pipes are louder but I know what your Cycle Shack 2 1/2 Ground Pounder sound like and V & H are a little louder. But out on the highway doing 80 mph they are not that loud.
Dang mcrider, with the safe way that you ride, I'm surprised that you feel the need to dress up like one of King Arthur's knights. Surely, as safe as you ride and with all your lights, horns, and other safety devises, you don't need all that apparel. Just ride naked.
On second thought, scratch that last idea. PLEASE!!!!

Dressing like one of King Arthur's knights will save a life a lot quicker than loud pipes will! JMO!

Vance and Hines definately make a very nice pipe. Certainly higher quality than Cycle Shack. No argument there. I bought the CS slip ons because they were cheap and anything was better than the stock fart cans.
As for loud? Dont have a sound meter, but I can hold my own in a loud pipe sound off at the local bar
I ride with friend with cheap pipes and have the same pipes as you have. Those poor souls. I broke three sets of stock pipe from broke motor mounts last year on my 04 RG. Then went to V&H pipes because they were cheap from swap meet. They are louder then I like because I ride to alot of different states around here with noise law for bikes and can be ticketed. Most of this loud pipes are not that loud at highway speeds with wind noise plus radio in a car your bike is quite on the speedway. But in town those loud pipes will keep most people around able to hear you.
