what he said. he did good in the predicament. nuff said
Chopper has no horn, my horn is the pipes. I never get cut off on the chopper, but on the RK, it happens almost daily. There is something to be said for a nice loud set of pipes.
So you would have us believe that you have NEVER EVER crossed through someones blind spot. That's pretty handy, how do you manage that? You can pass through a blind spot in a matter of a couple seconds and drivers can make a move during that same couple of seconds. I'd rather they know I'm there while I'm passing through that spot.
I was at a rally in Canada with about another 50,000 bikes, a group of eight of us were leaving at the end of the day and you had to make your way through pedestrian traffic, no matter how many times I "cracked the pipes" no one payed attention, it wasn't until I used my "little chrome bicycle bell" then it was like the parting of the red seas. A lot of laughter and applause followed, so "whatever works!"
I just try not to ride in a blind spot. Sometimes you can not a void it. It is like trying not tailgate someone. People just cut in the gap. I always just tell my wife one day he will die in a wreck. Someone is going wonder why.

I would rather they knew I was there too but if you think for a moment it's loud pipes that let them know you are there you're mistaken. My Harley is louder but not obnoxious while my crotch rocket is very quiet. I have found one is no better than the other for letting people know I am there. Rather, it's where I ride and how I ride that allows the cager to know I am there. For me, If I can't see that cagers face in their own mirror, I am out of position and literally in the blind. At that point it's my fault when things go wrong and not that of the cager, cell phone or not.
I don't think for a minute MCRider intended us to believe he never finds himself in a blind spot. Rather, he, like many of us don't stay there at all. Maskedstranger says his pipes are his horn. That's great and absolutely worthless because the pipes won't be heard until you are close enough to get hit in the first place and especially at any highway speed or if the cager has the window up with the stereo on. I would rather rely on focus and skill to save my hide.

logical fallacy.
if your pipes are loud, and you are running at cruising speed in someones blind spot, they should be able to hear you because YOUR PIPES ARE ALREADY LOUD.
blipping your throttle requires pulling in the clutch and twisting the throttle. you exchange speed/power for.... noise?
when 3,000 lbs of certain death are bearing down on me i'm getting in the throttle or on the brake. the only noise coming from me is a four-letter word.
don't be passive aggressive. ride your bike like you have sense.
