I'm not going to claim the carhart logger jeans are better protected than the kevlar, but they are A LOT thicker than the reg jeans, plus the doulbe dennim over the front. when i got mine i had to wash them a few times, they were stiff as a board!
If you have been looking at the new expensive riding jeans that are extra thick with added protection, I found a cheaper alternitive ($35). try a pair of carhart Logger jeans. they are extra thick with double layer front dennim. I just got some and they work great on the cold rides!
This is for the original thread maker and anyone else who may be interested. I went to Bass Pro Shops to see if they sold Carhart Logger Jeans. They did not...Also, ask the sells person if they had the Carhart Jeans with an inside liner. They did not...But, she said we have some RedHead ( no not a Red Head ) jeans that has that liner you may be looking for. I said great, where are they. You know the rest of the story!!
Bass Pro Shops sells a jean that has a liner inside the pants. The brand name is RedHead.
These jeans have a regular price of $34.94 and are on sell for 24.94, a $ 10.00 savings.
These jeans would be great for this time of the year. I am going to try them out in the morning on my way to work. It will be cool and a brisk travel to work. I am sure they will work find.
Hope this helps someone, Have a great day and please ride safe...
And for comfort they are hard to beat. A little pricey but worth it to me for that type of comfort and Made in the USA.
I have a few pair of Carhartt though i like them the leg cuff rides up high when i am in the seat. Above the top of my boots which lets a ton of wind in and not digging the moose knuckle.

I work with fire engineers and they wear kevlar fire equipment. It's like I'm looking at the tag on the fire suit right now. That's funny work for DuPont.
I have been in jeans in a crash in the 70's when real jeans were made. I will tell you that jeans are no good for any slid and now I will use leather or kevlar.
