I find that a lot of people don't understand about the Harley thing, but they will go out and buy an expensive truck or car when any old truck or car will do. I can guarantee one thing, a Harley will be worth more by the end of that year than the expensive truck or car.

Exactly. Actually the guy at work has a pretty expensive modded car - basically a road race car - that he can't use to it's full potential off-track and it's his daily driver. Also, he says if he was going to get a bike it'd be a crotch rocket. I did mention the fact that if he bought one of those and went to sell it 6 months later he'd likely get not much more than 1/2 what he paid, whereas if I sell my Harley in a few YEARS, I won't lose much, if anything, on it at all!
I'd rather spend $1000.00 on a beater cage for the winter and ride my Harley whenever possible!
I guess it's different strokes for different folks!
I'm going to be soooo excited for ya' when that Night Train comes in bro'. You've waited soooooooooooooooo long man! I'm almost as stoked as you...well almost.

Thanks man!! It's so close, yet SOOO far away!!! All I know is that I will be riding MY Harley this summe,r and that's ****ing AWESOME!!
I know how you feel. Either you understand and don't have to ask or you ride a riceburner or stay safe in your cage.
My father was a pipefitter in Cincy when I was growing up and he had several pipefitter friends who rode Harleys and came around often (kinda rough, chopper riding, patch wearing kinda guys). My mom was horified and I was mystified. Then when I was 11 or 12 I got new neighbor. The president of the Indian 4 club and avid rebuilder of old Harleys (knucks, flatheads, pans, etc). I began wrenching with him (Scotty) and hanging around him all the time. I was destined to ride a Harley (once again, my mom was horified).
Got my first Harley when I was 21 and 29 yrs and 11 Harleys later I am still mystified by them. I live and breathe Harleys and my coworkers just don't understand (although they are getting used to it). I spent all of last weekend with a woody checking out every square inch of our brand new Harley dealership that just opened in Effingham IL (Legacy Harley Davidson). One of the nicest looking dealerships I've ever been in, and I've been in a bunch.
I get if from all angles when it comes to buying our Harley... âWhy buy such an expensive bike when you already had a nice one (Honda 750 ACE)â? To which I usually ask âHow much did you spend on that BMW or the Ford Expedition? Why not drive a Ford Taurus or a Dodge Neon?â Then thereâs my mother - âMotorcycles are so dangerous why ride at allâ? âDo you have a will?â My mother e-mails me every article she can find where someone dies on a motorcycle. Iâm going to start sending her every article I can find on car accidents too.
