Chrome vs. Chrome Plating

I think this question was thoroughly answered. But I meekly protest. I think ppl will buy the quality chrome products, and they are doing it everyday. Just look at some of the bikes on this forum. The wheels, swingarms, oil bags, even frames. And there's a ton of hot rodders and customizers out there (lowriders) that are using the good stuff all the time. There's some good quality chrome being done, and I hope they stay in business from folks like on this forum. Folks that demand quality, even if it costs more. Just my $.02 Gumpy...

in regards to what you are looking at, chrome is chrome. In metalurgy, chromoly is called chrome when talking about percentages and such. 2% chrome 80% chrome depending on the material. No, it doesn't shine like chrome plating unless you polish the snot out of it. Everything has its place in the world of metal. To answer your question, if some stuff is marketed as chrome and some as chrome plated, they are the same.
