The 'wheel cover' (Note the front wheel looks solid) has me baffled. IT is a guess, but I do not believe those were available back then. BUT I got divorced along the line, so you KNOW I was WRONG at least one other time. Someone easily could have installed them on an older scoot, just like we do to ours. AGAIN, that's a GUESS.

The eagle fender tips, IF they are 'original' to THAT scoot, were available from 34-48. BUT remember, MY memory iz failing, YES,it iz photographic, but it iz so oldt, they don't make film for it any longer.

BTW - last springers, 48. Also, first year pan. Note, that's when the eagles stopped. Well, at least the ones, you described. Altho the rear fender, continued to 57, last hardtail, the front changed with the Hydra
Glide, 49.

Ya'll have to be gettin real close to what this is . The wheel cover puzzles me also . I've seen them before , but I don't remember on what bike . And my brother told me tonight that daddy had a 48 . At least he thought he did once . The seat is a buddy saddle with the hand rail on the back . We're trying to find more photos from distant family , but it's touch going . My mom has a pic with the right side shown , but it's in bad shape , and hard to see . Lets keep it up guys ! I think we'll figure this out soon .

dang guys we're gettin somewhere ! Dad also had a '38' . He had so many . But this is the on he had when I was 2 to 5 yrs. old . He had to sell it to pay for his D.U.I. fines , or face jail time . Mom and dad divorced a few yrs. later , and he never owned another bike . His drinking got the best of him .

About all i can tell from that pic is that it's a motorcycle, i think. Could be a knucklehead or an old UL flathead but i bet it's a 45. The crash bar looks smaller than a big twin crash bar but it's hard to tell.

Well Gump , I've been searching the net for more info , and came about this photo of a 48 pan . This one also has those puzzling wheel covers . I'm now pretty sure dads bike was a 48 panhead by the looks of this fine machine .What do ya think ?

Nay Nay, Girl, you done been riding in that sun, jus' a li'l too long. Walk into a dealer, and tell them you own a panhead, and they look at you with that deer in the headlight, DUH??? look. Most would not be able to pick a '49 from a '59, SERIOUSLY.

That would be THEM. GREAT pic, THANX.
NOW, where's Harley'sinthefamily (??) with his '48?

SD, as long as we have this pic here, note on the back fender, there are 'fender stanchions' on it. Also, if you look where the saddlebarges mount to the fenders, there are likewise stanchions mounted there. It also has the front fender, BUT is missing the speedo stanchion.
On EBAY earlier this winter, there were NOS National (they made a lot of Harley stuff) stanchions, the front, rear, saddlebarge AND speedo ones. They were at about $75-$90, so thought, hey, I'm gonna watch them suckers, being NEW and all. Well, just the saddlebarge stanchions went for over $380, the front was over $300, and the rear fender went just over $200. Speedo was over $200, also. Someone wanted them for a 100 pointer, BAD. Uhhhh, I'm STILL looking. Bwahahahaha
