Just got a new Metz put on the rear today. Been using metzler's since the first tire change so this is my 4th metzler on the rear. I think Dunlop and Metzler's last about the same but I feel the Metzler handles better.

I'm at 11,000 miles and probably under a dozen burnouts on a rear Dunlop Elite 3 and I don't need to change it anyime soon. My previous rear was an Avon Venom AM42 that lasted 10,600 and only a few burnouts.

Been running dunlops, switched to me880's, the difference is like nite and day. Who cares about mileage?, when they wear out, put on new. The feel you get from a good set of tires out weighs the fact that you can't go as far between tire changes. And I here talk about fuel mileage, that's like running a 70's muscle car with a big block and worrying about gas prices, just doesn't make sense to me. I don't let the fact that I'm burning fossil fuel for gas or rubber affect my enjoyment when I'm riding. Just my two cents.

same here, can't believe the difference with the Metz. Compared to the dunlops I had on previously, the bike seemed to drive itself.

That's it! I'm getting some Metz next week.My rear Dunlop is almost toast at 11k.I don't really care about mileage.A better handling tire would be nice though.

I switched from Avons to the Metz ME 880's and the ride is better.

I put Metzler 880's on about 2 months ago. I had about 7500 on the Dunlops. The front was fine but the rear was fairly well worn so I replaced both. As others have said, what a difference. The Metz track better, ride softer, seem stickier and the bike seems to steer itself... well, almost.

DAMN! That's amazing! I've gone with Me880's on all my bikes cept for the Fatbob - I got 12,500 out of the stock rear and I've never gotten that good of mileage on the Metzeler. My Brother put a Metzeler on his Fatbob at 12k and he is almost ready for a new one at 17k.

I just finished off a Metzeler with a couple of nice burnouts on my 1996 Ultra Classic. I was happy with the Metzelers, got lots of miles out of 'em but wanted to try a different brand. I'm thinkin' of Avons. I still LOVE the wide whitewalls too.

Make sure you inflate them properly. Metzelers need a lot more air than the Dunlops.

I'll never go back to the Dunlops, my ME880s are the best.
