I tried to teach my daughter early abouts bikes. We'd go down the road and a bike would go by, I'd say that's a rice burner, nother bike, that's a harley. Listen to the sound, Just to teach her what real bikes are. You know how daughters are, just like sons. If this is what Dad likes, then that is what I like! What we do has more significance than what we say. Start em young about what is right, and not just about bikes. if you know what I mean and I think you do. Just my .02.

Looks like a lot of us rode VTXs at some point ... or at least a metric. I like the metrics, but since switching back to HDs a few years ago I've been a little bit happier with the HD. Funny how that works.

My wife, 3 kids and I visited harley, kawasaki, suzuki, honda and yamaha many times before i settled for HD bike, my 9 yr old daughter asked why i chose HD over the rest, my 14 yr old son replied, riding a harley is like driving a ferrari..

They are all good. Riding is riding no matter what you brung, but.....after several English bikes (back in the day, late '60s) through the Jap phase, the Honda 750 SS was a really nice machine, and now my 3rd Harley, it is just different. Yep American made, the sound, the feel, the mystique ( you know the Del Fuego thing) all goes together to make it the brand for me.

Had to stop at Wallyworld this afternoon to pick up an item for my wife. I parked on a small paved area inside the sidewalk next to one of the entrances. As I shut the bike off, there were a couple of guys walking in with their young kids. One of the kids asked his father something about my bike which I didn't hear. But I did hear the father tell the kid, "That's a Harley!" Gotta admit, it felt good....
