The wind here in Illinois was just as bad yesterday and today. I rode yesterday and was fighting it the whole way, but it was 80, so I wasn't gonna sit around and watch everyone ride. I had to go into work today and rode the bike and it was just as bad as yesterday. At least it's not raining, I am glad to be ridin finally after all our wet weather. This week it's suppose to rain, so the wind isn't really that bad.....
Windiest day so far this year was yesterday and had the 'shield off for a quick ride. Man nothing like cruisin 100 having the head on wind doing another 100 with just a T-shirt on throwing sand at you. Felt like I was being sandblasted alive. The only good thing with a cross wind is it shoots the dripping snot out of your nose and off your face before it drips down your lip.
I feel better now. I just thought it was WINDY only in Texas. Seems like 25-45 mph and gusty winds are the norm nowdays. Like someone mentioned above, I look at the wind forecast more than I look for rain. It really takes the fun out of riding.

No chit there! Had to make a quick jaunt to work to turn a server back on. Heading East was fine. When I finished and was heading back, it was terrible. Thought I might be off the road once or twice!
Reminds me of a trip back from Michigan late last October. I got caught in several days of windy cold rain. I put my feet on the back pegs of my Sporty and hunkered down behind a small windscreen and pushed it up to 75Mph to get home quicker. In my mirror I watched a crotch rocket slowly pull up along side me. He looked cold, shaking, nose dripping...same as me. I nodded to him and he nodded back and slowly pulled away. Doesn't matter what you ride, when you share the road and hardship of the weather there's a mutual respect.
seems like everyday it's either 15-25 with gusts or 20-30 with gusts - worst is when that crosswind hits you suddenly - was really moving me around yesterday when i couldn't stay on the tree lined roads

Yep it was windy here in NYS too. Had some gusts up to 45+ We went on a 260 mile ride and saw some pretty cool wind turbine farms in Wyoming County NY. For some reason those things are so big and quiet they make me uneasy.
Worst wind happened in a road trip from Akron to Columbus with five guys in the car. Problem was the all U can eat bean burrito buffet the night before!
