I ordered a biltwell in matte black. Can't wait for it to get it! Im anxious to see how it really fits. I did try a fulmer in XL (I'm normally a L or XL) and it was a pretty tight fit. Kinda squeezed my head. It didn't look to bad, but just not what I was hoping for. Still kinda made my head look a little big.
Should. Fits most people I know. Funny, the helmet material is so flexible, that it's one size fits all, guess that's why they aren't DOT. Otherwise I would have gotten one.
Also, Icon helmets are something to look into. Not as high priced as Arai, or Shoei, but quality is way up there and fit is good for most. Vented very well, comparable to some Arai helmets. I have an Airframe, but they have equally good full face helmets for a bit less (I paid $200).
I have a Gloss black HJC full face that i bought right after i bought my bike and I love it. I wear it when I'm going on the freeway and when it's cold. I love it, i even put speakers in it that i hook my Ipod up too. I run a Smoked lens and it does fog when it's cold and at a stop light, but i just flip it open.
I am going to start wearing a full face helmet more this year. I am also looking at the fulmer 3/4 for warmer days. The two full face helmets I like is the hjc cl-15 crypt and fulmer d4. Any experiences or opinions about these helmet. I have seen some review and they seem to be good.
I have had nothing but FF helmets for the last 30 years. My advice is get the best fit. You really need to try them on. I have had good and bad fits and it is not always based on price (although high end helmets do tend to fit better). It isn't just size charts its head shape, if the helmet is not comfortable you will not wear it. Go to a store that has several brands and try them all. When you get the right fit you will know it. I love my current helmet, very comfortable for me, and it was less then $150.00
Since we are talking about full face helmets, anyone use the Simpson Street Bandit? How does it vent and are there any fogging issues.
CB
I've been ridin with the Simpson Outlaw Bandit with a black shield for a couple years now...extremely comfortable, light weight, looks small for a fullface & looks tuff as hell! Fogs up a little, not often enough to bother me. Sickwithit wears a Simpson Bandit also but I'm not sure if it's a outlaw or street, hit him up!
The best helmet is the one you don't have to wear. Where I come from, you have to. Politicians and cops don't leave the choice to you, so, I really enjoy the freedom not to wear one when I go to NH or another nohelmetlawwhatsoever state.
