While not a member of any MC, they used to be members of another club we know as the Navy Seals. Not a pair you should disrespect and definitely not people who think they need a logo to protect themselves.

Agreed, 100%. And that is what it all boils down to: having respect for everyone, not just specific people or groups. Just because you're in an MC doesn't make you more in command of respect than someone who is not.

Most guys that I know who are in 1% MC clubs, are not violent, nor or they particulary scary or physically imposing. They're just people that like to ride with others with common interests.

BINGO !!!
And it appears, OAB 'fingered' out, how to drag 'em outta the woodwork, too.
BEST part?? THEY VTE !!!!!!!!!

The "Times they are a changin'" AND NOT necessarily for the better.
BUT I think anyone who was riding in the 70's, knew this was coming, when they began marketing to RUBs, YUPPIES, DINKs, and other WANNABEs. The "Fashion Police" were NOT far behind them when they pulled out of the dealer on their 'prepped' rides.

I have a 'basic' philosophy concerning this 'phenom'.
IF you ride, "to ride", you appreciate even metrics and rockets, dirt bikes and dragsters.
IF you are an "AMERICAN" product ONLY type, then you likewise embrace Victory's and Indians along with the beloved HD.
IF you are a WANNABE, then ONLY HD's will do.
WHICH are YOU????

The reason MANY never even see a 1%er, they (1%ers) wish to remain incognito. IF, by chance, you do end up on the 'bad side' of them, YOU WILL KNOW. Whether you have an inkling to 'learn' or not. BUT I would turn my back on them, long before I would a HOG group. BUT that is MFUO, based on 'my experiences' in life.

You should not judge what you do not know. There are good and bad people in every walk of life. Our jails are full of architects, doctors and business people that broke the law. Are you lumping those folks in with the "dredges of society"? Because people lead their lives differently from your 9-5 life it does not make them the bottom dredge of society. It makes them different from you and based on your opinions, different from you is probably a good thing.
You are obviously much better than the me and some of my closest friends.

The best thing might be to agree to disagree. Seems like the divide is pretty deep and both types of people think the other is wrong. Hopefully this discussion can bring to light some issues that people are unknowledgable about and help them in the future. If you have never seen a patched member, it doesnt mean you never will. Just be respectful and things should work themselves out. Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm amazed this discussion has remained civil but am glad it has. Good thread. For the nay sayers, just try to remember that all knowledge is worth having.

Thanks for the welcome, Nomad. Please, if you go to Jax, pass greets and all the love and respect in the world to my brothers Fuzzy 1%er and of course Edge 1%er. I met them in Germany, several years ago, and we had a great time.
To the gentleman who thinks that I am a funny guy: just let's set up a meeting, only to be funny to each other... I live in MA now...

You never have to look very far to see pure ignorance,I saw it coming to work today with a road rage incident.A lot of people know very little about bikers so be it.I know very little about a lot of people around me just the way I like it.

some of the last patriots are in 1% clubs. most people are Afraid to stand on their own 2 feet. who defended the war memorial in D.C. from being defaced it sure was"t your gutless politicians! There is still some brotherhood and not selling out like so much of society,Meth,RICO, andgreed has hurt some of the clubs. But some have courage and will stand with ya when few others will.Someone asked Robert Mitchem who had been in prison once what it was like to be in hollywood,he said it was different because you had such a lower group of people than in the Pen.Judge people on the content of their charactor.
