Make sure the Ape is ready for you to mount her before you climb on. lol Just kidding with you.
I've ridden allot of bikes that has them on. It takes a little time to get used to your hands and arms being higher. My bike doesn't have them on but I will be switching to them soon. I found them to be very comfortable.
I wonder if people who find apes "really comfortable", raise their tables & desks (or lower their chairs) at home, so they can be equally as comfortable when eating or working on their computer. Is the work bench in their garage/shop at a height where they can always reach above their shoulders to work "very comfortably"?
To work on your bike comfortably, do you find a table lift that will put the bottom of the bike at shoulder height?
Just ride it. No big deal really after a couple of maneuvers. I put "minis" on my ride a few years back and felt it was an improvement over the beach bars I had. You get used to them in no time at all.

I went from stock buckhorn bars that I've read I don't know how many times are the most comfortable for most riders to mini-apes. I guess I'm not most riders cause I wouldn't go back for nothin. Some of it I think is that the bars are wider and seems to give more leverage. Whatever it is, they feel good. Hope you like yours.
You'll find you will lean the bike into turns and around corners more than with stock bars - 'specially at low speeds. Practise keeping the bike under control through corners by lightly dragging the rear brake while controlling the bike with the throttle.
