I was wearing jeans and yes I got wire brush bath every 4 hours for two week on 95% of my body. Wear what you want I have my broken wings I understand what happen to you in a slid for life.

I like the Olympia line of clothing (but my not appeal to many). I use the mesh pants in the summer. They are much cooler than jeans and have better protection. If I just plan on riding all day I just put them on over underware. If I plan on being off the bike often I put them on over shorts...get to where I'm going..boots and pants come off..sneakers go on and I'm comfortable to walk around. I also have the Ranger pants. I use these on longer trips. comfortable and waterproof so I don't have to fool with rainpaints. A friend uses the Draggon jeans and really likes them also.

I wear chaps. You can argue about the looks all you want but they are all purpose.

I can not see buying mesh pants made of nylon with just a little pads and no kevlar for road rash. And the price I can buy waterproof jeans with kevlar, light armor pads and oilskin for the rain. They will look just like a pair of jeans not bike racer.
